The Trinity River, a 165-mile tributary of the Klamath, is fisherman’s paradise and an underrated destination for anglers. Steelhead and trout are plentiful in its cold mountain waters. Set against a stunning backdrop of dense redwood forest, the Trinity offers one of the most scenic river fishing experiences in the state. The best times of year to fish are September-November, with a winter steelhead run in February. Licenses required.
