This event is being held to support our local fishermen, with the albacore tuna coming straight from our docks right here in Trinidad! The Haunted Kinetic Lab of Horrors:
Humboldt’s most twisted, horrific tradition returns for another year of hair-raising, vomit-inducing delights! 13 years and older.
The mad engineers at the Kinetic Sculpture Lab are bringing another fright filled Halloween. The shop itself is a scary place, and that’s in the daytime. Who knows what lurks there after hours. You’ll be taken on a guided tour of the facility and meet some of the unwanted Lab guests. *If you are in line by midnight, we will get you through the house!
Proceeds go to the Kinetic Sculpture Lab and helps keep the doors open for another year of sculpture racing in the Kinetic Grand Championship, the original triathlon of the art world.

A celebration of local produce and goods, the Arcata Plaza comes alive on Saturday mornings. Live music, hot food to go, dozens of local producers selling seasonal veggies, meat and more pop up along the streets of the Plaza. Free entry.

Stroll the plaza and watch our local artists create pastel works of art on the surrounding sidewalk. Farmers Market will also be open 9am-2pm.
Families, farmers, art aficionados and sponsors gather on the Arcata Plaza for the largest “art show” of the year. The gallery sidewalk is surrounded with music and the fresh produce of the local farmers market.
Each artist creates an original piece of art representing a business sponsor. Artists, businesses and children are what this day is all about. Some are experienced artists; others are just beginning to express themselves through drawings, paintings, or sculpture. Their sponsors are local businesses, corporations, schools, service clubs and “patrons of the arts.”
Northcoast Children’s Services’ preschool programs provide support to more than 1000 low income families with young children – from pregnancy up to age five – in Humboldt and Del Norte Counties each year. Please join us to chalk it up for kids!
Watch artists in action as they bring the sidewalks of the Arcata Plaza to life in support of North Coast Children’s Services. Local businesses and sponsors “buy” sidewalk squares around the center of the plaza where skilled artists craft pastel masterpieces. Enjoy live music and shop at the Arcata Farmers Market as you peruse the county’s largest plein air art show.
